In January, an Alaska Airlines flight landed safely in Cleveland, Ohio.
And in May, two Southwest Airlines flights were delayed after being diverted to San Francisco after the crew received a minor medical issue.
“We are grateful for all the passengers who chose to travel on our carrier.
We want to make sure they know that we are here to take care of them,” the airline said in a statement.
And, according to the National Transportation Safety Board, at least six people have died in the past year while using an air carrier.
In 2016, there were nearly 2,500 accidents involving air carriers, according the Transportation Safety Administration.
A few years ago, the National Aviation Safety Board issued a report that found air carriers had caused more than 1,500 deaths and injuries in the last decade.
